Come on now,... 50's Nifty!

A very good friend of mine turns 50 tomorrow so we could not let this milestone go without sufficient orneriness. I know this going to come back and bite me in about 3 years but she's old now,... maybe she will forget!

This "Wanted" poster states that she is wanted for "sporting a bad perm in public and any leads to her whereabouts should be passed on to your local hairdresser." This was an old picture that we scanned off her campus I.D.

Off and on all day, I kept hearing Sissy next door playing "The Funeral March" on her computer. Ahhh, good times!

Even "H" sent his Birthday wishes..... what a nice guy.

"Happy Birthday D.J!"

The 9 and under Clay Center B's went to Wichita last weekend for their State tournament. They played their first game Friday night and lost. Saturday they were suppose to start playing at 8am but it was raining and lightning pretty bad so the games were delayed. Six hours later, they played their first game, won and then played three more and won those also. After spending all day playing in the mud and the cold and in between down-pours, they finished their last game at 11:50pm. The girls thought it was so cool to play in the dark with the lights on. Gen said she felt like a pro-player!

Sunday they played early and seemed to be dragging a bit. The dugout was not full of chants and chatter as it had been the day before and while the girls played pretty well, it was not enough. They still managed to place 4th in their division which was awesome and well deserved.

Syd's birthday....
Auntie showing Gen how to do flips off the board...

Hey "Scuba Steve!"

Blaker couldn't wait to go "timming" in Aunt Connie's pool and once he adjusted to the water temperature he started getting braver.

Being poolside is my favorite place to be regardless of the temperature outside. That does not mean I'm getting in the water, but just being out there does my soul good. When our friends and family take time out to join us, it is ten times better.

But after the kids went inside to play video games, the adults (and I use that term loosely) decided to jump off the "high board."
Man, were those shingles HOT!

Beware the wake of the 'Sean-ami!'

Are you listening?

The Spirits speak to me on the wind.

They are saying, “Make haste,

And never look back.”

The Spirits speak to me as a Kestrel in the sky.

They are saying, “Don’t give up,

You are almost there.”

The Spirits speak to me as a beautiful butterfly.

They are saying, “Transform,

Your destiny waits.”

The Spirits speak to me as the water in the brook.

They are saying, “We are here,

And we will not leave you.”

The Spirits speak to me in the beats of the drum.

They are saying, “Be constant

And you will prevail.”

The Spirits speak to me in the night.

They are saying, “Dream.

And we will guide you.”
